# Organize mortgage documents without uploading everything to AI Organize mortgage paperwork with a document inventory and request log before using AI to help. Keep originals in your normal secure storage. A wording or comparison task may need only a redacted excerpt, not full statements, identifiers, or account details. ## Build the local inventory | Field | What to record | | --- | --- | | Document | Descriptive filename | | Date and period | Which version and timeframe it covers | | Requested by | Confirmed lender contact | | Status | Needed, received, submitted, or clarified | | Storage location | Your secure local reference | | Open question | What the lender still needs explained | This is an organization template, not a universal list of documents required for approval. Ask your lender for its current requests and submission method. ## A fictional version problem A buyer has two Loan Estimates saved as “final.pdf.” One is a later revision. Rename working copies with lender, date, and version, while preserving the originals. When comparing, label them A and B and record the dates so the model does not combine older costs with newer terms. ## Minimize the AI input ```text Help organize this document inventory and request log. Do not ask for account numbers, identification documents, or full statements. Identify missing dates, unclear versions, and unanswered lender requests. Draft a list of questions using only the non-sensitive descriptions supplied. Inventory: [filenames, dates, statuses, descriptions] ``` For a numeric comparison, remove unnecessary names, addresses, account numbers, and identifiers from the excerpt. Redaction does not guarantee anonymity; context can still be sensitive. Follow the service’s current data controls and any rules that apply to the documents. ## Confirm submission through the lender’s process Do not let a skill or AI answer choose a new upload destination. Use the lender’s confirmed secure channel and verify unexpected requests through a trusted contact. Keep a record of what you submitted and when. The organizer helps you prepare and locate information. It does not establish that an application is complete, that documents will be accepted, or that a loan will be approved. Those questions belong with the lender and the relevant professionals. --- SkillStall · 2026-10-02
